So you had a great day in the Smokies. Maybe you spent it hiking in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Or maybe you hung out all day at Dollywood or Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. Maybe you went ziplining or visited that cool place where the goats walk around on the rooftop…
But when daytime ends, that doesn't mean your good times in the mountains have to come to a grinding halt. Nighttime offers a whole different world of possibilities when it comes to vacation entertainment. And this week, we're going to tell you about some of the most popular entertainment venues in Pigeon Forge - the music theaters. We'll share our suggestions for some of our favorites and give you enough info so that you'll be able to pick out the one (or ones) that you think you and your family would enjoy most. So get your tickets, and let's go see a show!
This is one of the theaters you need to put near the top of your list, especially if you're a fan of country music. But even if you're not, there's a lot to appreciate about this show, which is been around for about 25 years. It's a high-energy revue of the greatest hits of country music, both old and new, performed by one of the most talented casts of singers and dancers in the Smokies. The non-stop production features comedy, gospel music, patriotic tunes and more. It has repeatedly been voted Show of the Year, Best Live Country Show in America and Best Show in the Smokies.
There's been a murder in Pigeon Forge! And it's up to the audiences at this murder mystery dinner theater to help the talented and hilarious cast piece together the clues and determine whodunit. It's an interactive show that's great for the whole family or even for a date night with that special someone. Audience participation is encouraged, but it's not required to have a night of thrills. Guests also enjoy a delicious three-course meal.
For more than 25 years, this Pigeon Forge venue has continued to prove, year in and year out, why it's one of the area's most beloved live shows. Clean, family-friendly comedy is the name of the game, and The Comedy Barn Theater succeeds on that front, with a live show that includes everything from stand-up and ventriloquists to animal acts and a few performances that defy description. A live country band and dancers help 'round out this sidesplitting night of entertainment.
This dinner show attraction centers on a friendly rivalry between the North and the South, and it's played out in a massive 32,000-square-foot arena on the Parkway. The stars of the show are 32 magnificent horses handled by a cast of skilled riders, and they all go head-to-head in a series of equestrian competitions to determine which side gets bragging rights. There's stunt riding, special effects, musical productions, comedy and more, including a four-course feast that you'll need two hands (and no utensils) to eat.
All of these theaters are just a short drive from us at Goats on the Roof. And don't forget that we'll be here all summer, offering a one-stop family destination that has a little something for everyone. See and feed live goats on our rooftop, go mining for gems, shop a wide array of locally produced gift items or go screaming down the tracks on our alpine coaster, which you control the speed of with a handbrake.
