Let's Ride!

Posted by Phil Rodgers in Pigeon Forge

Let's face it… Sometimes traffic in the Smokies can get congested, especially in the middle of summer. Anyone who's ever hit the town on a Saturday, especially on a holiday weekend or during a big local event, knows the experience of sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Go-carts are fast and fun in Pigeon Forge

While we can't do anything about the number of people coming to Pigeon Forge every year, we can at least offer a way to counteract the feeling of frustration that can accompany the snail's pace of gridlock. Our remedy: the speed of go-carts!

We don't offer that specific activity at Goats on the Roof, but several of our fellow attractions in Pigeon Forge specialize in just that. Any of them would be the perfect complement to hanging out with us. You can feed our goats, play some mini golf, ride our goat coaster, do some shopping and gem mining and then complete your day by putting the pedal to the metal.

Here are our recommendations:

Fast Tracks

Fast Tracks family fun center is located on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge and offers three different go-cart tracks -pro track, elevated track and figure-eight track. The elevated track is a three-story structure that literally takes go-cart racing to the next level. Guests can enjoy CAN-AM racing, Naskart racing, skid racers, junior racers and more. Other activities at Fast Tracks include bumper boats, kiddie rides, bungee jumping an arcade and the Sky Scraper - a thrill ride that will send you as high as 150 feet into the air.

Fun Stop

Here's another great place to stop for cart action on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge. Fun Stop also has three tracks for your driving pleasure: the elevated track, sleek track and pro track. There's something for all ages, starting with junior cars for $10 per ride, double cars for $16 per ride and single cars for $13 per ride. And like Fast Tracks, Fun Stop has other things going on as well. They have the Sky Scraper ride too as well as Slingshot (another aerial thrill ride) and the Soaring Eagle ziplines. Rather than being connected to the zipline by a harness, passengers ride in two-passenger seats that are suspended from the cable by trolley.

Blake Jones Racing Center

You can tell from the name of this Pigeon Forge attraction exactly what's in store - go-cart racing fun. Here, drivers can put their skills to the test on the indoor figure-eight slick track. Single-car rides start at $12, or you can get as many as three rides for only double that price ($25). The same value structure applies to the double cars. The more you ride, the less the cost per ride. Blake Jones Racing Center is an indoor and outdoor family amusement center that also features a mountain coaster.

Those are just a few of the places you'll find in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg that provide exciting go-cart experiences. Of course, there are more. You can always do more research online or maybe just cruise up and down the Parkway until you see a go-cart attraction that grabs your attention.

And if you're into cars, there are some museums you might want to work into your Smokies visit as well. These include the Floyd Garrett Muscle Car Museum in Sevierville, the Hollywood Star Cars Museum in Gatlinburg and the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge. While that last one's not a car museum per se, it does have a collection of some of the most infamous vehicles in history, including Ted Bundy's 1968 Volkswagen Beetle and O.J. Simpson's legendary white Ford Bronco.
